T&J Art Walk ist ein Projekt von Katinka Traaseth und Johanna Beer vom Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London. Das Charity Projekt startete eigentlich als kleines Schulprojekt und es kam im Sommer 2011 zur Zusammenarbeit mit Human Rights Watch, einer internationalen, nichtstaatlichen Organisation, die durch unabhängige Untersuchungen und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit für die Wahrung der Menschenrechte eintritt. An HRW gehen sämtliche Erlöse aus dem Projekt. Soweit zum Hintergrund vom T&J Art Walk. Erste internationale Station war Oslo in Norwegen, dort wurden 9 großformatige Murals gestaltet. Mit Faile, Shepard Obey Fairey, The London Police, Fenx, Logan Hicks, D*Face, Galo, Martin Whatson und Will Barras. Wir haben über 50 Fotos, einige Videos von den Aktionen und den Katalog zur Ausstellung, sehr schöne Arbeiten und großartiges Projekt!
T&J Art Walk Limited is the organisers behind T&J Art Walk for the benefit of Human Rights Watch. It is a London based company run by Katinka Traaseth and Johanna Beer. The two young women met at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London where they studied Art & Business. In fact the charity project started as a school project in form of a business proposal. However, with their common interest for contemporary street art and charitable work they quickly decided that they wanted to realise the idea of supporting a good cause through the sales of art. The choice of contemporary street art was easy as the form of art was traditionally used to express the people’s opinion and a political message.
