KOPENHAGEN – Ørestad Street Art Competition


Wie im Video zu sehen soll in Kopenhagen eine Wand in der Länge von 271 Metern gestaltet werden. Im Frühjahr 2013 solls losgehen. Die Ørestad Street Art Competition sucht dafür bis zum 16.Dezember 2012 nach dem/die Künstler für die Umsetzung. Teilnehmen an der Auschreibung können Graffiti und Street-Art Künstler aus aller Welt, auch aus Deutschland verspricht sich Art Rebels viele Einsendungen. Erlaubt ist alles, keine Einschränkungen (z.B. Stencil, Sprühdose, Pinsel, Roller) Neben der Chance an einem prominenten Spot in der dänischen Hauptstadt seine Idee für eine riesige Fläche umzusetzen winken dem Gewinner zusätzlich um die 13.300 Euro Gewinnprämie. The Longest Urban Artwork in Denmark

In the spring of 2013 a very long, very dull and very grey wall in Copenhagen will be transformed into the longest piece of street art in Danish history.

The transformation is part of a prestigious competition ‘The Ørestad Street Art Competition’ financed by The Municipality of Copenhagen. The city of Copenhagen invites artists from all over the world to submit their vision for transforming the wall into a spectacular work of art.

The wall is over 271 meters long and placed in the middle of cutting-edge and award winning architecture.

ONE ARTIST
Copenhagen is looking for one artist who can create a powerful artwork that will continually amaze the citizens of the city. Whether the artist works freehand or with stencils, uses a brush, rollers or aerosol paint, creep around the streets under the cover of darkness, or exhibit his/her work at galleries around the world, the city of Copenhagen wants a submission.

THE PRIZE
The winner will receive:
100.000 DKK (app. 17.500 USD)
Free accommodation in Copenhagen
All materials required for the completion of your work, provided in full.
30.000 DKK (app. 5.200 USD) provided for assistants. The artist can either choose to bring his or her own assistants or get them provided by ArtRebels.

THE JURY
Jesper Elg – Co-founder of the contemporary art gallery V1 Gallery and currently a member of the Danish Art Council of International Visual Arts.
CLEAN – One of the most versatile Danish street artists.
Lasse Korsemann Horne – Danish editor behind the most comprehensive publication on street art in Danish.
A representative from the Danish Arts Committee.
Mia Ellgaard – Representative from ”Homeowners Ørestad City”.
Tina Saaby – Danish City Architect.
Peter Larsson – From “CPH City & Port Development”, one of Denmark’s largest urban development corporations.

‘The Ørestad Street Art Competition is financed by the Municipality of Copenhagen and the art project is a cooporation between a diverse group of people from the small creative Copenhagen based company ArtRebels, to the homeowners of Ørestad city, Street Art Utopia, Bella Center Copenhagen, Molotow and the CPH City & Port Development.

Deadline for submission is the 16th of December 2012 and the winner will be announced in mid January 2013.
