MOCA TV – Art in the Streets – David Em´s ‘Graffiti Fever’ Videotape (1978)

Nach den Ausschnitten aus Henry Chalfant´s ‘All City’ Videotape aus dem Jahr 1983 (New York) konnte MOCA TV auch David Em davon überzeugen, einen Teil seines ‘Graffiti Fever’ Videotapes aus dem Jahr 1978 online zu stellen. Der Film zeigt Aufnahmen aus den Siebziger Jahren in Los Angeles mit LA Old School Graffitiwriter Chaz Bojorquez und einigen mehr. Er selbst spricht uA kurz darüber warum er damals schon angefangen hat Graffiti in LA zu mit der Kamera zu dokumentieren

Director David Em introduces his film, Graffiti Fever (1978), about 1970s Los Angeles graffiti artists. He speaks about what turned him onto the idea of looking at the graffiti being made at the time. In the film itself, the director talks with Chaz Bojorquez among other pioneer LA graffiti artists and writers about what motivates their work .
