After a massive 30-foot companion sat quietly in Philadelphia’s 30th St. Station for a few months, KAWS returns to the city of brotherly love for a special exhibition at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. KAWS @ PAFA features both indoor and outdoor components, which a brand new 9-foot sculpture sitting above the front entrance of the Academy’s Historic Landmark Building. However, the true visual mastery of this exhibition lies within the galleries throughout the building. Juxtaposed among the classic architecture of the building as well as the collection of historic American art sit over 60 KAWS paintings and sculptures, some of which were created specifically for this exhibition. Truly a site to behold.
