Der dänische Fotograf Søren Solkær ist 3 Jahre um den Globus gereist und hat dabei über 140 Street Art Künstler getroffen und fotografiert. Im Atelier neben ihren Arbeiten oder auf der Straße während der Arbeit caught in the Act. Neben Kopenhagen, dem norwegischen Stavanger, London, Miami, Paris, Las Vegas, Athen, Sydney, Melbourne, New York und Los Angeles sind auch Künstler aus Berlin dabei, wo beispielsweise Victor Ash in einer U-Bahn fotografiert wird, und im Hintergrund sein bekanntes Mural zu sehen ist. Das Video zeigt einige Szenen von den Shootings mit SEEN, LADY PINK, LEE, SWOON, SPACE INVADER, ANDRÈ, D*FACE, DABS & MYLA, ABOVE, ELLE, SHOE, LUSH, LONDON POLICE und BLEK LE RAT. Desweiteren wurden Künstler wie ROA, TILT, JIMMY C und viele mehr von Solkær fotografiert. Das Ergebnis ist eine eine sehr schöne Serie, die ab Februar 2015 in Australien und den USA gezeigt wird. Desweiteren wird GINGKO Press im Frühjahr 2015 ein Buch zur Fotoserie herausgeben (248 Seiten, 140 Fotos, Text, englisch). Danish photographer Søren Solkær has travelled the globe for three years in search of the most significant figures in street art and graffiti.
SURFACE features portraits of many of the most prominent figures on the contemporary scene as well as the pioneering icons. This expansive collection includes over 140 artists who have been photographed with their artwork in urban locations spanning Copenhagen, Stavanger, London, Miami, Paris, Las Vegas, Athens, Sydney, Melbourne, New York, Los Angeles and Berlin.
A fine art photo book is released by Gingko Press, February 2015.
