Banksy is probably the world’s most infamous “street artist”. His work is mostly illegal, as fast as his paintings go up, they are destroyed or in some cases removed by art dealers. The most strange fact Street Artists have to deal with these days. Banksy’s public paintings sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars, according to the makers of this movie, the artist receives nothing. The documentary movie “Saving Banksy” is the story of one misguided art collector’s attempt to preserve a Banksy from destruction and the auction block. This is the story of a multi-million dollar international art heist. Paintings done for the public, removed by art dealers without the artist’s consent and sold in high end galleries and auctions.
