This is an intimide mini-documentary delving into Los Angeles graffiti writer RETNA of MSK Crew and his unique style of painting. RETNA started in the early 1990s and slowly developed a very distinctive constructed script which is derived from Blackletter, Egyptian Hieroglyphics, Arabic, and Hebrew calligraphy, as well as traditional types of street-based graffiti. Coming from a regular graffiti background bombing the city and painting styles RETNA´s script communicates personal messages and poetry which are not immediately decipherable to a pedestrian audience. His hieroglyphic style artwork has also been seen in the Lower East Side on the Rivington Street Wall near Bower (see below).
