THE RISE OF GRAFFITI WRITING – FROM NEW YORK TO EUROPE – EPISODES 05-06

Following up on the first four episodes (EPISODE 01-02, EPISODES 03-04) of THE RISE OF GRAFFITI WRITING – FROM NEW YORK TO EUROPE, Lars now talks to the Gallerist YAKI KORNBLIT about how his very early exhibitions with DONDI, FUTURA2000 or RAMMELLZEE influenced the “Pre New York” Graffiti scene in Amsterdam. Besides YAKI KORNBLIT Graffiti pioneers like SHOE and DELTA commenting on the very early years of Graffiti in Amsterdam (1983-1985)

The episode 06 is dedicated to 1982 and 1983, when the film WILD STYLE was screened even before it was screened in NY city theatres, in 1982/1983 on german TV (ZDF) and british CHANNEL4. Graffiti pioneers like CANTWO, PRIDE, BANDO and LOOMIT talking.

THE RISE OF GRAFFITI WRITING – FROM NEW YORK TO EUROPE tells the story of the New York origins and the rise of modern graffiti in Europe from 1981 and beyond. LEE, FUTURA2000, CHARLIE AHEARN, FAB5FREDDY, SKEME, the TATS CRU, YAKI KORNBLIT and a very limited group of European graffiti pioneers like SHOE (Amsterdam), BANDO (Paris), MODE2 (London), 3D (Bristol), DELTA (Amsterdam), STONE (Munich), LOOMIT (Munich), HESH (Hamburg), CANTWO (Mainz), MICKEY (Amsterdam) and a few more protagonists will be featured in the series.

The series takes a very first look into the european origins by going to Amsterdam, London, Bristol, Paris and Germany. The next episodes will be online in a few days!
