80 Blocks From Tiffany’s

This 1979 documentary film focuses on Puerto Rican gangs such as the Savage Skulls & Nomads who occupied areas of the South Bronx in the late 1970’s. Amazing footage from an era long gone. Reminded me of the Stylewars documentary. Watch it here

They live!

Interesting John Carpenter movie from 1988. “Nada, a down-on-his-luck construction worker, discovers a pair of special sunglasses. Wearing them, he is able to see the world as it really is: people being bombarded by media and government with messages like “Obey”, “Stay Asleep”, “No Imagination”, “Submit to Authority”…”

They told us S-trains had to be red!

Posted:   Posted By: twik

Since the mid 1980’s writers have been painting S-trains in Copenhagen. DSB, the Danish Transport Authority, have always claimed that the S-trains had to be red in order to create a safe feeling and general law and order for the passengers. Well guess what, now many S-trains have started rolling with top to bottom, end to end advertisings plastered on over the former red steel. I guess its now ok to create anarchy and colours when someone pays for it…

But writers always get the last word…
