New ILG video featuring Copenhagens own HuskMitNavn!

“HuskMitNavn – RememberMyName (1975) – works with street art, paintings, drawings and graphics. HuskMitNavn has marked his name both in Denmark and internationally by his controversial, humorous and political street art. His characteristic figures and comments are spread all over Europe and covers a wide area from graffiti in public space, illustrations for international magazines and newspapers into established settings as galleries and building adornnments. By humorous reflections upon everyday life and politics, the art from HuskMitNavn involves society discourses. (Book: Politiken Drawings)In a very personal style he comments on absurdities by stolid comments that give ‘food for thought’. We have visited the artist in Copenhagen, the studio and his current solo exhibition at KOS, the National Museum Of Art In Public Spaces. We also managed to look over his shoulder while he paints a Skatepark and a wall somewhere around Copenhagen.”

90 classic seconds!

Posted:   Posted By: lars

In the historical series Danske Drømme (Danish Dreams) about modern Danish history, you can catch a 90 second clip about the birth of graffiti in Denmark, including part of the infamous Secher interview (“Ive been busted 11 times”), words from Minister of Justice Erik Ninn-Hansen (“We have to do something”) who was later convicted as a lawbreaker himself and classic footage of the buffing of Copenhagens first married couple wholecars.
Besides the 90 seconds of graffiti, all of the episodes comes highly recommended for all Danes, loads of great clips and history from DR’s archives. Only in Danish language though!
Watch episode 6 for the graffiti clip, starting at 03:50.
